About

Jennifer Mitchell joined the Washington and Lee University School of Law in July 2020. As the Archivist and Special Collections Librarian, she manages the operations of the Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Archives. The Powell Archives is centered around the papers of Supreme Court Justice Lewis F. Powell, Jr. but also includes the papers of many prominent former faculty and alumni as well as the official records of the Washington and Lee University School of Law.

Prior to starting at Washington and Lee, Mitchell served as the Head of Archival Process for the LSU Libraries Special Collections. Other previous positions include Archives Assistant for Virginia Tech Special Collections and Collections Intern for the South Florida Collections Management Center. She holds a Master of Arts in History from Virginia Tech and a Master of Library of Information Science from Wayne State University.
